Looking for recipes that are both flavorful and nutritious? Nutrition.gov has added new resources that can help you. The newly enhanced Nutrition.gov includes an Ethnic Cooking section on the Shopping, Cooking & Meal Planning page designed to fit the 2015-2020 Dietary Guidelines for Americans. Nutrition.gov collaborated with a range of government agencies to feature links to educational materials, videos, books and websites offering a wide array of healthy, culturally-based recipes.
Consumers can browse recipes for diverse cultural dishes under Healthy Latino Recipes, Home Cooking African American Style, Native American Recipes, Vietnamese Community Recipes, Filipino Community Recipes and other groups, as well as recipes available on the website of our Federal partner, the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute. Consumers can also search the new What’s Cooking? recipe database by ethnic cuisine such as Asian, Middle Eastern or Mediterranean.
Nutrition.gov, a website managed by the USDA Food and Nutrition Information Center’s (FNIC) staff of registered dietitians, offers consumers easy access to vetted food and nutrition information and links to government and educational institutions’ websites. It serves as a gateway to credible information resources for nutrition, healthy eating, physical activity, and food safety advice for consumers.
FNIC is part of the Agricultural Research Service’s National Agricultural Library, the leading source for agricultural information.
