Denessa Moses serves as the Associate Chief Information Officer (ACIO) for the Information Resource Management Center (IRMC) in the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO). In this role, Ms. Moses is responsible for the Department’s strategic missions to include IT Workforce Planning, Strategic Planning, Electronic Government and IT Audit Management, Capital Planning and IT Governance, Enterprise Architecture, Section 508 Compliance, and Information Management.
In her previous role, Ms. Moses served as the Deputy Associate Chief Information Officer (DACIO) for IRMC, where she led and directed day-to-day operations of IRMC activities. She also served as IRMC’s Information Management Division (IMD) Director, where she led the planning, development, and implementation of activities to align agency internal business practices with government-wide regulations and policies.
Ms. Moses’ experience includes 10 years working for the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) in OCIO helping lead complex IT programs and projects, and experience engaging stakeholders and customers to assess their business needs. She also served as a Deputy Division Director and a Branch Chief, and she oversaw the FEMA-wide implementation of Section 508 compliance by providing strategic direction through a range of technical support, training/outreach, and compliance activities.
Ms. Moses began her federal career at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and worked for 16 years as an IT Project Manager overseeing software and application development, annual budgets, programmatic expansion, and strategic planning of systems’ full life cycle support. In addition, her diverse private industry experience helped lay the foundation that make her a well-rounded IT professional with the ability to connect to others.
Ms. Moses is committed to cultivating a positive, customer-centric approach that impacts the way employees, customers, and citizens view IT services offered by the agency. In 2018, Ms. Moses received the 2018 Service to Citizen Award which recognized public servants who demonstrate excellence in their delivery of services that impact the lives of the public.
Ms. Moses holds a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics with a minor in Computer Science from Hampton University.
