Last week, USDA’s Center for Faith-based and Neighborhood Partnerships led a webinar to share with local faith and community leaders opportunities to partner with USDA to help those in need in their communities.  This webinar was the first in a series entitled, Together We Can.  The series aims to equip organizations with introductory knowledge, best practices, and contact information to help community-based organizations understand and access USDA programs.

During the call more than 200 people learned about the goals of USDA Center for Faith-based and Neighborhood Partnerships and how they can partner with USDA.  The Center aims to increase awareness of, and access to USDA nutrition assistance programs by partnering with faith- and community-based organizations working to end hunger and encourage healthy lifestyles in their communities. The webinar also provided an introduction to USDA Rural Development programs and Let’s Move Faith and Communities. Listeners were encouraged to partner with USDA to better help those in need in their communities.

If you are interested in learning more about building a partnership with USDA, sign up for any of the upcoming six calls and webinars that focus on the various ways USDA can support the work of your organization.  Each call focuses on a different way that we can work together to improve the health and well-being of your local communities.

Our next call, “Together We Can Feed Kids During the Summer”, takes place on Wednesday, May 30th.  To learn more about the rest of the series and register, please check out our registration site or email us at collaborate@usda.gov.  You can also sign up for our biweekly newsletter to stay up-to-date on partnership opportunities with USDA.
