The U.S. Forest Service is helping Minority Landowner Magazine celebrate its 5th anniversary with a conference in support of minority farmers, ranchers and forest landowners.
Minority Landowner will convene the conference Feb. 24-26 in Raleigh, N.C., with some 300 farmers and landowners from across the country. Through a facilitative process of four concurrent breakout sessions, and small group interactive discussion, farmers, ranchers and forest landowners will design an intervention program to help save family farms.
We at the Forest Service are proud to be a sponsor of this important conference and the drive to assist our nation’s minority landowners and family farmers. We know that they are an integral part of what makes America great – that they embody the very spirit of our country. Their connection to the land and their hard work bring food to our tables. But we at the Forest Service also know how hard their land is working for us – these farmers’ well-managed private forests are cleaning our air, filtering our drinking water and providing new sources of renewable energy.
We are proud to support this conference and the great people that it serves.
